About the Role:
The Sanitation Technician will work at the direction of the Sanitation Lead and Farm Operations Supervisor to collect, clean, sanitize, store and deliver equipment essential to the operation of the farm.
This position will also have other duties as assigned, including, for example, general cleaning and waste disposal, inventory taking, equipment organization, and product packing.
What You'll Do:
Identify, collect, move, clean, sanitize, store and deliver equipment; Carry out cleaning and sanitization activities in accordance with established protocols; Work safely with a variety of power and hand tools; and Engage in a variety of activities related to the general cleanliness of the facility.
What You Should Have:
Experience as a food service, environmental services or sanitation worker; A working knowledge of safe lifting and maneuvering techniques; A working knowledge of safe waste disposal methods; Experience working safely with chemicals and cleaning agents; Demonstrated success as a member of a team; Excellent physical fitness and strength; and Willingness to go beyond what's expected.
Physical Requirements of the Role:
A successful candidate for this role will be able to complete the following:
Use fingers to grasp and move objects and equipment; Speak clearly so listeners can understand; Ability to properly don and wear PPE, including gloves, masks and wet weather gear; Ability to work in a variety of environments, including hot, cold, wet or humid spaces; Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them; Sit, stand, move, walk, reach, twist and bend for extended periods of time; React quickly using hands, fingers or feet; Adjust the body or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects; See details of objects that are more than a few feet away; Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs; Make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists; and Coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving.
